September, our favourite month...

Here’s a warm September hello from Jeremy Mogford…

I don’t know about you, but in my opinion, September is one of the best months.

Mist in the morning, that special late summer light, warm days with a nip in the air, a tint on the leaves, the diminishing prospect of a delicious late-season homegrown fig, Beth or Comice pears with a bit of crunch and of course you can’t beat traditional Victoria plums, the first taste of butternut squash, and the prospect of penny buns (sorry UK… I prefer the word porcini or cepes, a much more evocative word for this exceptional fungi).
